Wow, only when you have not been to a big Chamorro party do you really appreciate it!! It has been a while since I have attended a party having greater than 500 people! I sure miss the TABLES and TABLES of FOOD GALORE!!!! I am lucky to have had that growing up on Guam. I miss the village fiestas with all sorts of food: miss the panglao, the roasted-krispy pig skin, the bowls of a variety of pancit, kelaguen of all kinds, red rice shaped with cups (remember those??), lots of titiyas, and PEOPLE, PEOPLE, PEOPLE......the ones you know and don't know....heck, just invite anyone walking by, the more the merrier...........the pala-palas, decorations with coconut leaves.................the dancing.......ai adai, the sweet tamales, tamales giso...........yum yum food!
Life on Guam....very fortunate to have lived it!!!
