CHICKEN ALA KING

Oh yum!!

The pastry turned out great.....crispy and oh so good. I may decrease the amount of sugar (little as it was) and see if the pastry crisps up in a lighter color. Otherwise, I loved it!...yum, yum, yummy, even without the filling!!

The filling was wonderful too! My husband and my son loved it together, so, it must really be good!! It was nice and thick such that when biting into the filled shell, the mixture did not ooze out much.......mmmmm, sooooo good!!

I shall work on pantosta after my Pump 'n Run!!

  1. Buenas Paula!
Great job on your website. I was wondering if you had the recipe for the Chicken Ala King and Pastry cup. I have spent countless hours searching the net and chamorro cook books for it and I am unable to find it the way it is made on Guam. If you are willing to share the recipe I would greatly appreciate it. I no longer live on Guam so any opportunity I get to relive my childhood is always a blessing.
May God Bless you & your family.
    Si Yu'us Ma'ase!
    Sincerely,
    VaNessa

  3. I have also been looking for this recipe for over a year now. I went to a liberation last year with my family in San Antonio and one of the families made the Chicken Ala King with the pastry cups brought back memories. My father is from Guam but has since past away. Would really like to surprise my family with this at our next family gathering.

  4. Hi Paula! I too would appreciate the recipes for this dish. I have an older Chamorro cookbook and it was not printed.

    Thanks,
