Today, I ate 3 potos with a cup of skim milk after a 38 minute run. The mostly rice flour and sugar gems replenished my energy more than anything I have eaten after a run. Yum!! Unfortunately, there are only 2 potos left. I'll probably eat it later today. Thank goodness I enjoy a good workout....so necessary to keep up with my love of Guam food.
Yes, if you are an exerciser, the best time to eat is within 30 minutes of a workout. No, you should not eat whole wheat bread. Instead, eat lots of white rice or white bread. The nice thing about poto is that it is portable. I took a few to the gym to eat after a cardio session on Tuesday because I had to do some grocery shopping after my workout.
Well, I will have tinaktak and brown rice for my second meal of the day.....coconut milk, rice, ground beef and corn....yummo as Rachael Ray says!
