CHAMORRO YEAST DOUGHNUTS II

Oh yes, the Chamorro yeast doughnuts were soooooo good this morning. Personally, I like them better the next day than just out of the oil. I couldn't wait till Sunday morn to try it, so I was up last night!

I am not much of a fried food girl! But, it was important to make this doughnut cause it's just a Chamorro thing. Now, this is not the kind of doughnut you buy at Dunkin Donuts or Krispy Kreme. There is a very unique texture / experience to the Chamorro yeast doughnut dusted with sugar & cinnamon. I am afraid that those Chamorros born today, living off-island anyways, may not even know what this is by the time they grow up! While yes, I may enjoy a stateside doughnut here and there, it's a pleasure to eat and see these Chamorro treats!

One recipe down and several to go. I will actually have to make this again to record it on video...for the dvd.
