During my days growing up on Guam, champulado was made of boiled rice, cocoa powder and milk. However, I've been told, that way back when, our champulado was quite different. During the Spanish era on Guam, our champulado was actually like the Mexican champurrado. Champurrado is an atole-type drink made of ground corn flour instead of boiled rice. I love how our food reflects our history!
